Ian Sheldon is proud to launch a collection of limited edition prints of Cambridge University, England. An alumnus of Magdalene College (1990), Sheldon is an international artist now based in Canada, and was invited by Cambridge University Press to compile an exceptional collection of watercolours celebrating the University’s colleges and many of the other key buildings in the city. The resulting coffee table book of paintings was printed in 2009 to celebrate the 800th anniversary of the University and the 425th anniversary of the Press.
With the first edition of Cambridge Footsteps: a passage through time now sold out, Sheldon decided to launch this collection of archival giclee prints so that people can continue to enjoy his timeless watercolour paintings on their walls. Thirty-nine of his favourite scenes from the book have been taken to print, and only 250 prints of each scene are being released. These sumptuous and high quality prints make an ideal gift and memory for students graduating from the University, as well as for academic staff and visitors who wish to remember the beautiful architecture and their time in the city.
The highest quality of archival inks are printed on acid-free watercolour paper, rendering a flawless and colour accurate reproduction that has all the feeling of the original watercolour painting. Each print comes rolled in a tube with a certificate of authenticity, allowing for easy international shipping and for the buyer to choose their own framing. All of the original paintings are in the hands of private and corporate collectors around the world.
